As the XP Deus is available in the Dutch version without a housing, we also sell it separately. The housing easily clicks onto the Deus' shaft and then remains securely in place. If you purchase the housing separately, you need to enter the number of the previously purchased search coil in the menu. If the housing is turned on before the WS-4 or WS-5, it takes control of the settings. When you change something in the menu on the housing, the headphones adjust accordingly.
Because the housing offers many additional options, it is well worth purchasing at a later stage if you haven't done so immediately.
The display of the housing shows the conductivity value of the detected metal with numbers. This is particularly useful if you are specifically searching for coins in certain areas (like in a park), where there is often a lot of foil. Instead of immediately discriminating against it, you can look at the numbers and decide to leave the lower ones and dig up the higher ones, especially if the signal is nicely rounded, it could also be gold.
When you have a lot of urban search areas, there is often a lot of rubbish, making searching almost impossible, unless you increase the reaction speed to 4 or 5. Set the Deus in such a way that it just indicates iron (Iron volume at 1), then swing slowly and you will hear the high beeps of non-ferrous metal among the low hum of iron. These are the good finds that you cannot find with any other detector in the world because the abundant iron camouflages all the good finds. Give it a try, success guaranteed!
Furthermore, the housing has a pinpoint mode to determine the exact location. When this is on, you can also choose MODUS. Pressing this, you find modes: Non motion audio disc, non motion all metal, non motion disc, like the very old C-Scope's, which worked with a base tone on the discrimination settings. There are many more settings available here too. Especially interesting if you are looking for large metal, also very suitable for militaria seekers.
In addition to the many basic settings such as sensitivity and reaction speed, there are EXPERT options, which are useful for minor and special adjustments.
