The Garrett Ace 150 is very easy to operate with just 3 buttons, turn it on and start searching. Object Identification
The Ace 150 metal detector has a segment bar for object identification. When the metal detector detects an object, you will hear an audio tone and a block will appear in the segment bar at the top of the display. This allows you to read what type of metal the object probably is (for example, iron). Additionally, the Ace 150 has 3 different object identification tones: a low tone for iron, a medium tone for gold and other metals, and a high tone for silver.
3 Search Modes
You have the choice of 3 pre-programmed search modes (All Metal/Jewelry/Coins). In All Metal mode, you search for all metals including iron. In Jewelry mode, iron is discriminated or ignored, and you search only for valuable metals like jewelry. In Coins mode, in addition to iron, bottle caps are discriminated, and this mode is ideal for searching for coins. You can also adjust the sensitivity (depth) yourself.
Waterproof Search Coil
The Ace 150 features a waterproof search coil and shaft, only the display is not waterproof. You can use the Garrett Ace detector in shallow water, as long as the display does not get wet. Also, during a rain shower, you should protect your display with a display protection cover.
Response Speed
This metal detector excels in its depth range and its fast response speed (recovery speed). This is especially important if multiple objects are lying directly next to each other.
