The Midi Hoard is very easy to use with only 3 buttons. The right button is used to turn the detector on and off and to turn the iron discrimination on or off. The middle button is the pinpoint button, to recognize exactly where the object is located. The clear display shows with symbols what kind of object may lie under the ground. For example, the left block indicates if there is a nail, screw or horseshoe (iron objects), the middle block indicates whether there is a coin, ring, pull tab or aluminum foil and the right block indicates whether there is a coin, beer cap, or a pull tab.
You can also read the depth of the object in 3 segments and with the battery indicator you can see if the 2 AA batteries are still full, half full and if they need to be replaced. With the Midi Hoard, the volume can be set to 2 levels and the sensitivity / search depth can be set to three levels.
